Circular tours in HungaryHungary doesn't consist only of Budapest. We have lots of tresaures, natural resources and historical monuments, town and villages in the countryside, as well.. During our circular tours you can have a chance to explore the most beautiful and most interesting parts of our country. I would like to show you an example for circular tours in Hungary1.day: Arrival to Budapest. We will travel to the North-Eastern direction to visit Hollókő. This village is a part of World Heritage. It could keep its architecture and local traditions. You can look at the old houses and the national special costume of local people. You will have a chance to taste the special cake of the village. We will continue our way to Eger. |

2.day: Sightseeing tour in Eger. The town is famous first of all for its wine and the castle. This is an archbishopric where we can visit the second largest cathedral in Hungary and the interesting cast-iron gates. we can walk around in the great Castle of Eger, that is very famous for its siege against the Turks in the 16th century. We will visit the Valley of Beautiful Women where you will be able to taste the excellent wines of Eger in one of the few hundred old cellars. | |
3.day: We are going to an excursion to Hortobágy. You will see the Great Hungarian Plain with its endless horizont, the " Puszta " stretching in Eastern Hungary. In the National Park in Hortobágy - which is also a part of World Heritage - you can see protected animals, such as grey cow, long horn sheep, or mangalica pig. You will also have the chance to look at a horse show and taste the traditional Hungarian cuisine in a country inn, called "csárda". | |
4.day: Our tour will take us to the Royal Palace in Gödöllő. There is a beautiful baroque palace near Budapest which was a present to Franz Joseph and Queen Elisabeth after they were crowned in 1867. The exhibiton here shows the history of Hungary from that time to the present very well, because it was used by the royal family, by Gouvernour Horthy, by the Sowjet army and it has been renovated in the last twenty years. Our next stop will be in Kecskemét. This beautiful small town is well known as the home of apricot brandy, it is famous for its buildings in Hungarian Art Nouveau and folkmusic. On the same day we will continue our travel to Szeged. This town is situated in South-Eastern part of Hungary. It is famous for its rich culture, paprika and the fine pick-salami. |

5.day: We are going to the South-Western Hungary, to Pécs. This interestingn is very rich in Roman, Turkish and Christian monuments. | |
6.day: We will spend a whole day to looak at he most important sights in Pécs. During our walking tour we want to see the old-christian graves from the Roman period (4th century), we want to visit mosques from the rule of the Turks (16-17th century). I want to show you the cathedral and it is worth visiting an exhibition by Victor Vasarely, who was born in Pécs. We will see the Museum of the Zsolnay Ceramic and the exhibiton of one of the greatest Hungarian painters, Csontváry. Near Pécs there is a great wine-region, in Villány, which is very famous for red wines. We can have dinner here and taste wine. | |
7.day: We will continue our tour to the Balaton lake, that is the largest lake in Middle and Western Europe. Our tour can take us to Tihany which is a beautiful demi-island. You can visit here the famous Abbey Church and its Romanesque crypt. You will enjoy the view of the lake and you can have some time for shopping. It is worth walking on the nice promenade of Balatonfüred. This is a spa town, "the Mekka of cardiacs".We will travel to Tihany, which is a beautiful demi-island. 8.day: Our tour will take us to Sopron, in the North-Western part of the country. This town is very rich in monuments. The most important sights are the medivial church and the medivial synagogue. | |
9.day: We will continue our way to Fertőd, to the Palace of Eszterházy family and to Pannonhalma where the oldest monastry in Hungary can be seen. We can look at the medivial church, the monastry and the library. We are going to Budapest. |

10.day: Half-day sightseeing tour in Budapest. Our tour will take us to the Jewish district. I want to show you the Heroe's Square where statues of Hungarian kings can be seen. We are walking to the Vajdahunyad Castle and the Széchenyi Bath in the City Park. On the same tour we will pass the State Opera House, the Saint Stephen's Cathedral and the magnificent Parliament building. We are going to the Castle District of Buda where we can visit the Matthias Church and enjoy the picturesque view from Fishermen's Bastion. We will also stop to marvel at the renowned view of Budapest from the Gellért Hill. |

11.day: If you want to see the beautiful natural sorroundings and you are especially interested in the medivial history of Hungary, come with us to the Danube Bend! Our first stop will be in Esztergom , which is the catholic seat of Hungary. We wouléd like to show you the largest cathedral in the country. We can enjoy the nice view of Slovakia on the riverbank. We will continue our way to Visegrád where I want you to visit the ruins of the medivial castle and have the picturesque view of Danube Bend. Szentendre is a former Serb town with an interesting Mediterranean atmosphere. This is a town of painters and sculptors with lots of exhibitions, othodox churches, cafes and restaurants. It is worth visiting the museum of Margit Kovács who was a world-famous Hungarian ceramic artist.You have a good chance to go shopping here. >> Szentendre tour |
